A Little Chat... Feeling Negative

You know when you have one of 'those' days and you just feel like the world is against you, when in reality your just against you. Sometimes you need someone to just tell you that everything is fine, blah blah blah. But one day your going to have to make yourself feel better, you can't pin your emotions on what other people. You need to be able to look in the mirror and know yourself that everything is fine. Hey maybe not now, but it will be. The key is positive thinking, if you don't like your image - change it, don't like people who are around you - change it, don't like what's going on in school/work - change it. The change might not happen over night, but just knowing that you are doing something proactive to make yourself a happier person should be enough to make yourself feel better.

Some days you will just feel a bit.. shit. Whether this be because of a rubbish day, hormones or something going on. Just remember that feeling like that won't last forever, and in a week or month or years time that problem will be long gone. Positivity makes the world go round, no one got to where they are by being negative. Even if you feel like you have no one around you, there is always someone there, you just can't see it. And even if there isn't you can cope on your own, you can make your own positivity.

I hope this helps at least one of you to keep your head up

Room Inspo: Fairy Lights

Last week my room inspo post (here) got such good feedback I thought I'd share another one with you. I am a bit of fairy light freeeak! Like seriously, everything looks better covered in fairy lights (in my everyones opinion) . So I wanted to share a few inspiration pictures when it comes to covering your room in them like I will be doing in september!

They are soooo pretty to make your room look magical, like a scene of Frozen constantly. They are great if you don't get much light into your room as they add another dimension onto the lighting. Even if they are on without any other lights this can create amazing mood lighting. They just make your look girly without even trying, they can also be found mega cheap in Ikea and most home shops.

Remember Fairy Lights aren't just for Christmas, they're for life.

Blogger tips #1: Unlocking Your header

The blogger Template locks the header so no gadgets can go on top or below it. In designing my blog I really wanted my social media at the top so that it was visible but not the main focus of the side bar. So if this is what you want to do or to put something else there, this is how!

First go to Template > Edit HTML
This should bring you up to loads of gobldy goop html - do not be scared; you wont break it!!

Then hit Ctrl  - F or Cmd - F on a mac
Then insert  <div class='region-inner header-inner'>

Then under that you should see this...

<div class='region-inner header-inner'>
<b:section class='header' id='header' maxwidgets='1' showaddelement='yes'>
<b:widget id='HTML2' locked='false' title='' type='HTML'>
                     <b:includable id='main'>

All you then have to do it change those 3 highlighted things:

maxwidgets='1' – Max number of gadgets allowed in that section. Change to 2 or 3.
showaddelement='no' – This will allow you to “add a new gadget” in section. Change to yes.
locked='true' – Locked so you can’t delete the gadget. Change to false
So it should look a little like this:

<div class='region-inner header-inner'>
<b:section class='header' id='header' maxwidgets='2' showaddelement='no'>
<b:widget id='HTML2' locked='false' title='' type='HTML'>
                     <b:includable id='main'>

Now, if you go to Layout (you will have to refresh the page), the header element will now look just like the other gadgets and be able to be moved up and down. You can now move it to where you want. Or to remove it, click edit > remove. To add a gadget Go to Layout > add a new gadget. You can now re-arrange the gadgets to put ones above the header
I hope this was helpful I know it made everything s much easier when I was creating my blog, if you want anymore tips, you can email me or let me know in the comments and I can help you there or do a post like this!

Room Inspo: Photo Collage

I am currently getting ready to move into a new house in september with a few uni friends. I am beyond excited as I love decorating my own space. To make somewhere your own I think picture frames are a must. At the moment I love the home trend of picture collages, they look so homely but so modern at the same time. They don't have to have photos of your nearest and dearest (don't tell them that though!!) But fill them with graphic postcards (Ikea is perfect for these), patterned paper or even make a college of your favourite things. I found a ton on Pinterest, naturally the mecca of all home inspo so I thought I would share...

These are such personal and lovely ways go make your room more you! I think its so important to make your space somewhere you love, especially if you live far away from home, it will make it more like home and less like a place your just staying.

I hope you enjoyed this new kind of homey post!

Backward Hair Washing

Yeah you read that right. I must admit when I heard this first I was a bit, what???? But then I did it and was so so excited, I had to share with you lovelies.

Backwards Hair washing is conditioner then shampoo... I AM BREAKING THE LAWS OF PHYSICS! So you might be wondering why I have gone a bit crazy but the outcome of this is amazing!

We've all been there where you've washed your hair and you get out the shower and realise you didn't get all that thick conditioner out properly, nightmare. So this is your savour. Washing your hair conditioner first makes sure alll that product is out. Makes your hair softer and so much easier to manage after you've washed it, and best of all it doesn't get dirty as quick, yay!

If you think I've gone mad, there is a ton of bloggers trying it and it has been featured in the Daily Mail, here

Will you be trying this trend out anytime soon? If you have let me know your thoughts?

Coachella 2014

Okay so everyone wants to go to Coachella, how could you not. Middle of the desert, with some of the coolest people ( looking at you Alex Turner ) and it is littered with fashionistas with festival boho style. With a celeb a attendance that would make anyone a bit star struck and a line up that you'd probably give your left arm for, you got to look good. Here is my if I was cool enough to go to Coachella and be rubbing shoulders with Alexa chung I'd wear...

This outfit is my perfect Coachella look that I probably could never pull off but I would damn well try. These beautiful shorts paired with this tropical crop top is to die for. The fringed bag is named Coachella so clearly it belongs there.

This is a little bit of everything in one outfit, classic festival shorts mixed with a really good fedora and to top it all off this beautiful YSL bag with I am dying for.

Hope you enjoyed these little festival looks, if you like these kind of posts let me know and I will do more for you!

The Trainer Edit

I think it is good to inject some of the runway trends into your personal style, you don't want the runway to be your personal style because then that's not you, it's someone else take on fashion that season, and you've just got to do you. I am loving the Trainer Trend that is going round at the moment, Sports Luxe has been floating around for a while now and it seems like its not going away! Here I have picked my top 5 trainers for Spring Summer, to push your look into a more sporty style without looking like your one sweat band shy of the Madonna Physical Video.

I think all these trainers are wearable with most outfits just to give your outside a little bit more dimension. I really love the slip on style at the moment because they are a life saver if your a little bit of a late runner like me.

Let me know if there are any trends you are loving at the moment, I'd love to see!

Make Your Eyes Pop - Colour Wheel Logic

It is so easy to just stick to the same old safe make up but sometimes a few little beauty tricks like this one can make your eyes pop just that little bit more! We all have seen a colour wheel, that nasty little bugger you were made to colour in every year in art class, well now it's make up orientated it's a little bit more exciting (and important)!

To make your eyes pop, you should try and not wear a colour that matches your iris. You can make your eyes pop with a colour across from your your eye colour or you can also go for complimentary shades. I am going to focus on the three main eye colours; blue, brown and green.

Brown eyed girls - You should try going for red-ish or terracotta tones to compliment your eye colour, for this I would go for Macs Red Brick. But if you want your eyes to really pop try going for a blue or green shade like the much talked about 'Sumptuous Olive' from mac, it is a really nice Kaki Green colour, that can be blended for a really lovely smokey eye. Another trick is to use an eye shadow with metallic flecks this will bring out the gold in your eyes.

Blue Bombshells - Brown really is the go to colour for blue eyes, it can really help to bring out the colour a lot, for this I would suggest the Channel Mystic Eyes. This has everything from shimmering gold to bring out green tones in your eyes to copper colours that will blend beautifully to create that perfect brown smokey eye, who doesn't love that!

Green eyed Girl - If you are lucky enough to have big green eyes, you don't need much more than mascara to make these stand out, but if you want the colour to pop even more, try using  pinky tones. For this the Naked 3 pallet would be perfect, it has so many rosey shaded that can be blended to create such a nice look for your eyes. To compliment your eyes, you could use a gold shade that will make your eyes appear more of a vivid green.

Now this isn't to say if you are rocking blue eyes with a bright electric blue colour, this isn't a bad thing. If it works for you thats great, after all the colour wheel is just there as a suggestion to intensify the beautiful features you already have.

I hope you enjoyed this little bit of beauty logic, if you want to see anymore colour wheel posts for blush or lipstick do let me know because I would love to do them!

My Beauty Secret: Witch Hazel

Which Hazel might not be the most glam beauty product around, don't get me wrong it's no Tom Ford. But I will save you from a few skin disasters. Here is my Ode to Which Hazel and five reasons why a bottle should be in everyones cupboard.

001. Spot Fighter - It reduces inflammation and takes away oil from the skin, this aids in refucing redness. I use this at night, I pop a dab onto a cotton pad and then hold it onto the blemish for a while, and then wake up to see how reduced the redness and even the spot its self. People have said that this is an acne treatment, but it is so mild that it may not work a huge amount of acne.

002. Flake be gone - It can help dry skin, if the winter has left you a bit battered from those cold winds, this can help! After a shower or bath pop these onto those naughty dry patches, this will lock in all the moisture from what you just put into your skin. Perfect to get summer ready.

003. Bag Stealer -If you have been having a few too many late nights with school work or partying, this can help then. Bag under the eyes is something I suffer from badly. Even when I do get a good night sleep they're still here! If you look at most eye treatments they all have witch hazel in them, it helps to tighten up your skin and loose that baggy-ness! Much better than spending an arm and a leg on some 'miracle' eye treatment.

004. Shave Saver - The main perk of Witch Hazel is its anti-inflammatory properties. It can stop getting those horrible itchy red bumps forming once you've shaved. Life saver in the summer. You can put it on before or after shaving and can save you those horrible bumpy leg rashes and have legs like Beyonce!

005. Bye Bye Bruises - If you're anything like me, you have your head in the coulds all day and maybe end up walking into desks, chairs... lamposts! And you end up with lovely bruises all over the show. If this stops you from wanting to get your legs out on summers day do not let it. Applying Which Hazel will help heal them quicker if applied morning and night. Get ready to say hello to those spotless legs.

For ages I have thought that this is my skin secret, I really do rate it a lot. It's so soothing so useful and so cheap at around £2 from any chemist or supermarket, you cannot go wrong. Let me know life you have any skin secrets I should know about!!

Mood Board: April

I love April as a month I think it is so fresh and clean! It's like the ready, set of summer. Making that transition from scarfs and jumpers into sunglasses and t-shirts, if we are lucky. In April I like to start brighten up my wardrobe and make-up looks, whether this be with a nice pink lip or a pop of colour in my outfit, I think making these subtle changes make you feel better and brighter about the time of year. I also use April as a start to get ready for summer, i.e lets stop eating fast food and lets get some fruit and running on the menu, ready for that beach godess look! I want to fill my April with daisies and smiles and hope the two are never far from me.

I hope you enjoyed having a peek at this mood board, let me know if you like this kind of post! Also let me know what you love about april!

Origins Super Spot Remover - Review

This little pot has to be my best beauty weapon. If I have to go into the front line of day to day lie, this little thing is coming with me.

I am always a sceptic when it comes to thing that say they are a spot remover, if that were the chase why doesn't ever one have one? But In the mist of a resent break out, I was searching for anything that would save me.  I had heard loads about it, mainly from lily pebbles raving about it, and that girl has glowing skin so she can't be wrong! For the record she is not!

It is a gel formula, that is cooling on the skin, but however does get a bit stingy, I've heard most reviews say this but my mum has always lived by the fact that if it is hurting it is working and with this I think she might be right. It dries clear, but leaves some residue behind, I would obviously advise putting this on before bed and letting it work its magic through the night.

I have tried it on varying levels of blemishes (spots), those niggling under the skin ones, those obvious ones and those that you have clearly had a fiddle with. All these degrees are all combatted by this gel, I find that it tackles under the skin spots the most effectively, working almost over night. It helps with the others but maybe takes 2 or 3 nights, but who's complaining.  I would really recommend this to people who get the odd spot or a few break outs, I wouldn't advise it on heavily spot prone skin or acne, due to the fact it is quite harsh and stingy and that might aggravate the skin more.
